Pte. Fred Draper (18) of the Loyal North Lancashire's, was killed in France on September 9th. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Geo Draper of Regent Street and enlisted about Christmas 1914.
He had been in France only about 5 weeks and on landing was transferred from the East Lancs to the Loyal North Lancs. He has two brothers in the army. He was a weaver at Haslingden and a bugler in the Church Lads Brigade. 

Newspaper Memorial:

In loving remembrance of Private Fred Draper, aged 18 years, who was killed in action in France, on September 9th 1916.

"Sleep on dear son, and take your rest,
For God takes those He loves the best;
On earth there's strife, in heaven rest,
They miss you most who loved you best."

Sadly missed by his loving Mother, Father, Sisters and Brothers.
