"One year has past since that sad day,
When one we loved was called away;
But now he's gone we're left behind,
This world to face and friends to find.
  "Gone, but not forgotten".
From his sorrowing Wife and Children, 4 Town Gate, Haslingden.

In loving memory of Pte, George Yorke,

"Only a memory of bygone days,
And a sigh for a face unseen,
But a constant feeling that God alone,
Knoweth best what might have been"
From Sister-in-law Cicely, and Nephews

We pictured his safe returning,
We longed to clasp his hand,
But God has postponed the meeting,
Till we meet in a Better Land.
From Sister-in-law Annie and Niece, and John (in Salonica)

Sleep on, dear brother, in a far-off grave,
A grave we may never see;
But as long as life and memory last,
We will remember thee.
