"Too far away thy grave to see,
But not too far to think of thee"

From Father, mother, Sisters and Brothers.

"Sleep on, dear one, in a foreign grave,
Your life for your country you nobly gave;
No one stood near you to say "Good-bye"
But in God's keeping now you lie"

From Father, Mother, Sister, Brother Willie (in France)

"There on the field of battle,
He calmly took his place,
He found and died for Britain,
And the honour of his race.
No mother's care did him attend,
Or o'er him did a father bend;
No sister by to shed a tear,
No brother his last words to hear"

From his sorrowing mother, father, brother and sisters, 2 Rudd Street, Haslingden.
