HASLINGDEN TANK MAN KILLED
Mrs. Tetlow, 12 Lonsdale Street, Haslingden has received from a chaplain a letter stating that her husband, Pte. Thomas Robinson Tetlow, Tank Battalion, was killed in action September 2nd and was buried on September 4th. "He died very gallantly doing his duty, and you will always have cause to be proud of what he has done for his country. You have the sincere sympathy of his friends." Private Tetlow was 35 years of age, and was employed at Holden Wood Bleachworks. He joined the army in May, 1916.
