Newspaper Memorials:

In loving memory of our dear son and brother, 38829 Private Fred Haworth, South Wales Borderers, who died of wounds in France, on November 4th, 1918.

"Dear is the grave where our son and brother is laid;
Sweet is his memory that never shall fade;
Leaves mayh wither and fall from the tree,
Some may forget him but never shall we.

We loved him, ah, no one can tell,
How deep, how dearly, and how well;
A loving son, a brother kind,
A beautiful memory left behind.
"Thy will be done".

From Father, Sister and Brothers, 25 Prospect Hill, Haslingden.

"Could we have raised his dying head,
Or heard his last farewell,
The grief would not have been so hard to bear,
By those who loved him well.

He was upright and just in all his ways,
Honest and faithful to the end of his days;
Forgotten to the world by some he may be,
But dear in our memory he ever will be."

From his sorrowing Father and Sisters and Brothers, George (in Egypt), Jack (in France), 25 Prospect Hill.
