Newspaper Memorials:

In loving memory of Rifleman Harry Rushton, 5th King's Liverpool Regt., killed in action in France, May 3rd, 1918.

"Those miss him most who loved him best."

"He gave his life for King and country."

From Father, Sister, Aunt Jane, 10 Heys Street, Haslingden.

"They loved not war, but at their country's call,
They made the great surrender, leaving all;
Friends, plans, ambitions, and the hope of years,
They laid them on the alter - with our tears."
"Too dearly loved to be forgotten."

From Father, Mother and Eric.

"The face we loved is now laid low,
His fond true heart is still;
The hand we clasped when we said good-bye
Lies cold in Death's cold chill."

Mr and Mrs. John W. Dewhurst and family, 27 Sunny Bank Street.

"When alone in our sorrow and bitter tears flow,
It brings back the time of the sweet long ago;
Unknown to the world he stands by our side,
And whispers, "Dear parents and sisters,
Death cannot divide."

From his sorrowing Father, Mother, Sister, and Aunt Jane, 10 Heys Street, Haslingden

"Not dead to those who loved him,
Not lost, but gone before;
He lives with me in memory still,
And will for everymore."

With love from Mrs. Mitchell, Willow Tree House.

"Bravely he went at England's call,
He took his task, and did his best;
His duty done, though he did fall,
He was one of England's best."

Ever remembered by Mr. and Mrs. Haworth and Family, 10 Grane Street.
