HELMSHORE LOSE PROMISING YOUNG MAN.

Helmshore has lost a most promising young man by the death at the age of 24, of Mr. James N. Constantine, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Constantine, of 428 Spring Bank.  In May, 1915, when in the employ of Messrs. Porritt, deceased enlisted in the army, entering the R.A.M.C.  All his service was in England, and mostly at Netley Hospital.  Demobilised on January 27th this year, he had got nicely back to work when he took influenza and pneumonia followed.  Complications set in, and despite every attention from Dr. Stewart he passed away.  He was a most useful worker at Helmshore Wesleyan Chapel and school, and was formerly secretary of the Band of Hope Section of Haslingden Free Church Council.  Prior to the funeral on Monday there was a service in Helmshore Wesleyan Chapel, Rev. J. Redfearn officiating.  The interment was at Haslingden Cemetery.
