Newspaper Report:

The funeral took place on Wednesday at Haslingden Cemetery of Private Harry Bell, East Lancashire Regiment, who died from wounds received in action.  He was struck on December 19th, 1916, was discharged on March 21st, 1917, and died at his home, 281 Grane Road, Haslingden, on September 1st 1917.
Thirty nine years old, he was a weaver at Flash Mill, Haslingden, attended Trinity Baptist Church, and enlisted on October 20th 1915.  He leaves twobrothers (both with the colours), and a sister. He was unmarried.
The relatives did not desire a military funeral.
