Newspaper Report:

Reported to be missing on October 18th 1916, Private Charles Haworth, East Lancs Regiment and formerly a weaver at James Barlow and Sons Mill, Helmshore, is now announced to have been killed in action on that date.
The deceased was the eldest son of Private Henry Haworth, now in the Isle of Man, and before enlisting in March of last year he was a regular attendant at Helmshore Wesleyan Church, and a playing member of the School Cricket Club.  At football he played right half and was also a member of Helmshore Blue Ribbon Club and the Liberal Club.  Of a quiet, sociable, and agreeable disposition his death will be greatly deplored.
His young brother, Private T.H. Haworth went through the Gallipoli coampaign, and was then drafted to France, where he is now.
