TWO IN A FAMILY FALL

Pte. Harry Kay (48), 9 Back Bank Terrace, Haslingden, was interred with military honours at Haslingden Cemetery on Thursday afternoon.  Pikelaw Hospital furnishing a firing party, and the Rev. W.T. Evans officiating.  He was formerly a weaver at Carr and Parker's mill which stopped for the funeral. He had been in the Army nearly three and a half years. Whilst on active service he sustained some shell injury.
He had been in hospital in England four or five months, and the cause of death was bronchitis and nouritis.  He was connected with King Street Wesleyan Chapel.  Deceased's wife died last June.  A daughter is the wife of Pte. Harry Barrett.  Deceased was stepfather to Pte. James Harrison (31) 13 Spring Lane, who was killed in action a week ago last Sunday, had been in the Army since September, 1914, up to when he was a weaver at Carr and Parker's and who leaves a widow and two children.
