Newspaper Report:

HASLINGDEN PRISONER OF WAR DIES.
Private Robert Eastwood (22) , who up to joining up resided with his sister, Mrs. Haworth, 12 Heys Street, Haslingden, has died from wounds as a prisoner of war in Germany.  The news has been transmitted to his sister by the War Office.  Private Eastwood had not been heard from since May 5th of this year.  He was a son of the late Mr. Ormerod Eastwood, and his mother is dead.  He was a single young man, was connected with Haslingden Parish Church and School, and was a member of a junior football team.
