Newspaper Memorials:

In loving memory of my dear Son, Private David Trippier, 13th King's Liverpool Regiment, who was killed in action in France March 28th 1918

"Dear is the grave where my son is laid,
Sweet is his memory - it never will fade"

"Gone, but not forgotten"

By his sorrowing Father.

"Today brings back sad memory,
Of one who was called to rest,
And those who think of him to-day,
Are those who loved him best.

God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain;
But God hath promised strength from above,
Unfailing sympathy, undying love"

From loving Mother and Brother Halstead, 317 Westwood Terrace, Rawtenstall.

"His pleasant face his kindly ways,
Are pleasant to recall;
He had a kindly word for each,
And died beloved by all"

From his loving Brother in Salonika, Bill, Sister Cilla, little Nieces and Nephews.

"Only a memory of bygone days,
And a sigh for a face unseen,
But constant feeling that God above,
Knoweth best what might have been"

From George (serving), Sister Susan, and Niece Mary.

"When peace rings o'er the country-side,
Our thoughts are still with the lads that died,
How they battled and fell,
With no loved ones there to bid them farewell.

"God takes our loved ones from our homes,
But never from our hearts"

From his loving sister Sally, Brother Dave (Mesopotamia), little Jim and David.
